Good stuff, thanks Johnnie. Really agree with his views on the BBC and v interesting comment about Gordon Brown.
Hope AB doesn’t get a better offer – unless it’s to take over Snuk and head it straight into real reporting of stories or ‘news gathering’. Think he’s got the balance just right.

What’s your fav AB moment? Mine was when he’d been hanging about no 10 for hours and when the B&B duo came dancing out, Dubya told him to ‘get a real job’

The cream of Britain’s political and media establishment turned out to celebrate the marriage of one of Tony Blair’s oldest friends and closest aides.

Anji Hunter, who acted as Mr Blair’s “gatekeeper” while director of government relations at 10 Downing Street, married Sky News political editor Adam Boulton.

Mr Blair, who has known Ms Hunter since their schooldays, was the most prominent name on a guest list made up of stars from the political, broadcasting and showbiz worlds for a service of blessing at St James’s Church Piccadilly, in central London.
He arrived on foot without his wife Cherie 15 minutes before the ceremony began, and said nothing as he walked into the church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

Mr Boulton, 47, and Ms Hunter, 51, arrived together in a chauffeur-driven silver Mercedes, having travelled the short distance from Spencer House where they were married in a civil ceremony.

The 18th century palace overlooking Green Park, which belongs to the family of Diana, Princess of Wales, will be the venue for a lavish reception.

Ms Hunter wore a champagne-coloured silk twin set and single string of pearls, with matching shoes with pink toe and ankle straps. She held a posy of peach-coloured roses. A beaming Mr Boulton wore a navy blue suit with light blue tie.

Among those attending were cabinet ministers Tessa Jowell, Lord Falconer, Baroness Amos and Peter Hain. They were joined by former ministers David Blunkett and Charles Clarke as well as European Commissioner Peter Mandelson, Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell and former Lord Chancellor Lord Irvine.

Also from the world of politics were former Labour leader Lord Kinnock and his MEP wife Glenys, veteran Labour backbencher Sir Gerald Kaufman and Defence Minister Adam Ingram.

From Downing Street were former Number 10 Director of Communications Alastair Campbell and his successor David Hill and his partner Hilary Coffman, a Downing Street press officer, as well as Mr Blair’s pollster Lord Gould and former Labour spin doctor Tim Allen.

From the media came BSkyB managing director Dawn Airey, veteran broadcaster Sir David Frost, Sun editor Rebekah Wade and the paper’s former political editor Trevor Kavanagh, Sky News anchor Kay Burley with her partner, The Sun’s political editor George Pascoe-Watson, columnist and former MP Matthew Parris, ex-Sunday Telegraph editor Dominic Lawson and former ITN political editor Michael Brunson, as well as former Sun editor David Yelland.
