He’s now in a filling role?

Doubt he’s retired as he said he was 54 the other day….

Likes the Artic Monkeys  Do we believe Sky Presenters love all these popular bands or is it just a whisper down their earpieces

Good to see Allan back on today. Shame he is not used more often. He should try and get out more and do some live reporting if the presenting work is not there. He is a journalist(?) and it must beat sitting at home gathering dust.

I think Allan would be amused at the suggestion that he sits at home gathering dust. I thought it was widely known that he has extensive business interests as Managing Director of a firm specialising in Media Training. It’s obviously a very successful business and his reduced appearances on Sky News are probably due to his increasing commitments elsewhere!

Widely known by whom? Im sure if we did a poll, the vast majority of the Brittish public would not have knew that. Im glad to hear he has other projects, and is not sitting gathering dust.

I like him too. Although he’s an older presenters he connects with younger anchors, like Emma. Here’s some interesting info from sky’s website:
”With an amateur ?ham? radio and television transmitting licence to his name, Allan?s passion for radio is clear and he is an avid collector of wireless radio sets and gramophones. In his spare time, he also makes full use of his Private Pilot?s Licence. He admits to a passion for all things Bollywood and has surprised more than a few people with his knowledge of Hindi. ”

Thanks for that info. Very interesting to find out about off screen life. Allan can take me for a flight if needs a passenger. I love flying and would love to get a pilots licence. My dream job was to be a pilot but I foolishly chose solicitor

Kay was a guest on This Morning today, talking about Dancing On Ice, so Allan was covering.

Been good to see Allan back over the last few days. Paula and Allan were good together over the weekend which proves the “old” (as in been with skynews a long time) presenters are the best and most professional!

Yes, I like Allan King’s presenting style. It just goes to show these ‘old newscasters’ can mix with the younger ones easily. How long do you think Allan has being at Sky News? It must be at least since 1994, that I know of.

Doubt you will see much of him again, given the new schedule, they have a lot of surplus presenters to fill in before reaching for his number, its a shame as he is always always spot on and his interviews leave a lot of the others trailing.

    That is a shame.

I have got Virgin Media at the moment so don’t get to see much of Sky News. If I got a freeview box, is it aired on there?

Back on point, Allan, in my opinion is better than JT and Kay Burley and yet they get the prime shows through the week, whilst, Allan gets nothing. Good to see though, that he has got other commitments.
