Great to see Sky News covering the wedding of Elton John and his partner, David Furnish. Kay Burley is at Windsor Castle and it was the top story at one o’clock.

It’s not a wedding, a wedding is between a Man and a Woman.

    It’s a civil ceremony.

Yes you’re technically correct. But it’s great to see them covering it so positively.

i said you were correct. This thread is about the coverage by Sky news of the ceremony and civil partnerships in general. If you have a sensible view on this…please feel free to exercise your opinion.

No you I was technically correct.

    You dismissed the facts.

I do have a sensible view, which is pointing out a factual event.

If you don’t like what you see then put on your rose tinted spectacles.

    I am exercising my opinions.

    See above.

what facts!? what are you going on about!? It isn’t a wedding, I said you were correct… What is your problem. Once again I repeat: this thread concerns the excellent coverage of the ceremony. See above.

You wrote I was ‘technically correct’.

That means there is some doubt.

    Fact=’s civial ceremony.

    Not fact=’s wedding.

    No technicality whatsoever there.

As for Sky TV covering it, who cares, there are things like this everyday of the week, they should plough their time into reporting on issues that are more important.

The civil partnership will give the same rights to a same sex couple as if a heterosexual couple were to get married. Thus, one can deduce that the two aren’t too dissimilar and emerges my point that technically, it is not a wedding.

    It’s a civil ceremony.

Can you please point me to your source for this “fact”
A Wedding according to dictionary.com lists the following definitions
    1. To take as a spouse; marry.
    2. To perform the marriage ceremony for; join in matrimony.
    3. To unite closely: a style that weds form and function.
    4. To cause to adhere devotedly or stubbornly: He was wedded to the idea of building a new school.

A Wedding according to wikipedia.org is defined as “A wedding is a civil or religious ceremony at which the beginning of a marriage is celebrated.”
Not once is the gender of either participant mentioned,
I think the original poster merely wanted to praise the coverage of the ceremony by Sky News and not enter a debate into the semantics of the words he chose to describe same.
You attack him for not being politically correct when you yourself and trying to back up your argument with ill-informed hear-say

I can assure you that this is not a phantom account. I was browsing the forums and came across this thread. Your very blatant homophobic undertones were enough to make me create a new account.

Was the ‘marriage’ coverage at 13.00 as nauseating as that at 08.00?

The breakfast time blanket coverage was, of course, led by E.Holmes Esq – aka Mr Dumb Downer!

    Cheers

You are a moron. You admitted you ‘had to create a new account’.

Great defence calling people homophobic that don’t agree with you, and bobby, I know more than you!

Also like I sit here waiting for your very post, you freak!
