Exclusive – No Change At News 24

The TV Newsroom has learnt that contrary to reports, there are no changes planned for BBC News 24 in the near future.

A senior BBC source has said that News 24 will not change to be bought into line with the new look national bulletins anytime soon.

This differs from a MediaGuardian report which said that News 24 will adopt the updated maroon and grey colour scheme and that the channel will be given a new on-air look within the next couple of months.

The article also said that News 24 is likely to be rebranded as simply BBC News as part of a move to create a uniform brand across all the corporation’s output on TV, radio and online. This is thought likely but will not happen for some time.
