The ITV News Channel maybe set to close after a secret document outlining a contingency plan for the “imminent closure” of the ITV news channel was left on a printer at the HQ in Gray’s Inn Road.
According to the MediaGuardian, “The one-page document was immediately circulated among concerned employees at the ITV News Channel newsroom.
According to sources, the piece of paper was left on a printer by a senior ITV executive.”
In a staff memo sent to the ITV News team, Mr Mannion told staff not to worry for the time being as it was only a contingency plan and nothing has yet been set in stone.
The News Channel had its Freeview hours clashed by half on November 1st to make way for ITV’s latest channel, ITV4.
The MediaGuardian report went on to say “It is understood the contingency plan deals with what happens if ITV decides to replace the channel with its new children’s station, which launches on February 14.”
Oh, this has been reported already then? Well, you can never have too much info, eh?
