Beconase Hayfever is the new sponsor for Sky News Weather.

    Hmn…why the change from Halifax?

because their sponsorship deal for the weather ended, and the other company made a bid for it, which Sky accepted – thus changing the advert

quite frankly, i’m glad to see the end of that bloody annoying halifax man every 30 minutes

Yeah, I also found the Halifax ads annoying, but I tend to find that any adverts that are the same for ages very annoying. (Even the Ryanair.com ones that Sky News used to use before the weather.) So the Beconase ones will probably annoy me after a while too, even though I use the stuff! But it’s probably an advert ‘thing’ as opposed to an anti-Halifax or anti-Beconase Hayfever thing. Adverts = annoying, one of life’s simple facts.

I agree the halifax ads were annoying. It’s just a shame that they didn’t make the halifax man suffer with hayfever.

The Halifax ads were annoying, but I preferred those to the current Beconase Hayfever ones.

I actually think the beconase adverts are rather good.

They bring to attention a troublesome summer problem, in a light hearted manner.

I wonder if that was the brief?

Yes, I agree, it does help bring attention to this seasonal problem. But I can assure you, hayfever is no laughing matter.
