NFL announce 2015 International Series Games (Wembley)

The NFL and NFL UK have announced the three games that will be held at Wembley Stadium in 2015 – including three teams for the first time.

The 2015 slate features a first-ever division game in the UK as well as games played on consecutive Sundays, also a first for the NFL in London.

The Miami Dolphins will host the New York Jets in Week 4 on Sunday 4 October, the Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Buffalo Bills in Week 7 on Sunday 25 October, and the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions in Week 8 on Sunday 1 November 2015.

The game times will be announced at a later date, but two games will take place on consecutive Sundays, giving fans in London the chance to see NFL action in back-to-back weeks for the first time.

The Dolphins lost 13-10 to New York Giants in the first ever game held at Wembley in 2007, but won their second game in London against Oakland Raiders 38-14 in 2014.

The Jaguars lost their first game over here in 2013 42-10 against the 49ers, while the Lions were 22-21 winners over the Falcons in the last game played here two-weeks ago.

“We are very appreciative of the outstanding support from our fans in the UK, not only for the games at Wembley, but for all of the related NFL events we have hosted throughout the city,” said NFL Executive Vice President of International Mark Waller.

“We believe we have a great 2015 schedule that will continue to attract new fans to our sport and strengthen the bonds with our existing fans.

“To provide UK fans the opportunity to see games on consecutive weekends, to see new teams, and to attend a division game, which feature some of the most passionate rivalries in our sport, are signs of the growth and depth of our UK fan base.”

The third and final International Series game of 2014 will take place this Sunday at Wembley Stadium between Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. The match will be shown live on Channel 4 and Sky Sports 1 from 6pm.
