Philip Hayton

Philip Hayton worked for the BBC for more than 30 years before leaving the corporation in September 2005.

Philip had been a BBC correspondent and anchorman for more than 30 years and presented all of the main BBC One bulletins including the BBC One, Six and Nine O’clock News bulletins. Philip then joined BBC World ahead of joining BBC News 24 as one of the channel’s lead presenters.

Philip left the corporation in 2005 citing incompatability with his co-presenter Kate Silverton in the 9am-1pm slot.

Philip was born in Keighley, Yorks and educated in America and Britain.
