ITV announces Queen’s Diamond Jubilee coverage

ITV has announced plans to broadcast continuous live coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations on Tuesday 5th June.

ITV News at Ten’s [[Julie Etchingham]] and ITV’s Phillip Schofield will reunite, following the Royal Wedding programme last year, to host ITV’s coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee procession, live from a specially constructed studio at Buckingham Palace.

The coverage begins at 6am with Daybreak, followed by ITV1’s main live coverage at 08:30am, and continuing right through to 4pm that afternoon.

An experienced line up of ITV1’s presenters and reporters will join Julie and Phillip including [[Alastair Stewart]], [[Mary Nightingale]], [[Mark Austin]], [[Nina Hossain]] and [[Natasha Kaplinsky]] will be based at key procession points on the way from Buckingham Palace, along The Mall to the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s, reporting live as the nation celebrates sixty years of our Monarch on the throne.

[[James Mates]] will lead the ceremonial commentary of events – just as he did for the Royal Wedding last year.

“ITV will give viewers a close-up view on a great day of national celebration,” said Michael Jermey, ITV’s Director of News & Current Affairs.

“We’ll aim to capture the national mood as millions of people across the country toast the Queen’s 60th anniversary on the throne. People enjoyed our coverage of the Royal Wedding and we hope they’ll join ITV again for the Diamond Jubilee procession and service of thanksgiving.”
