Out of the former presenters that Sky News has seen over the years, who was your favourite, who would you like to see back, and any presenters you’ve seen from other channels that you’d like to see presenting Sky News?
i’d love to see the return of : – Chris Rogers – Anna Walker – Alison Jack – David Glencorse – Helen Morton (also a fan of fiona mcdiarmid, RIP)
would like to see cnn’s becky anderson behind the sky news desk. quite like her style. not sure where she is now, but would also like to see fiona foster presenting on sky.
helen morton was my favourite by a mile , i think she got married and went back to her home town of grimsby to work on the trawlers. tho i have seen her doin’ a bit of moonlighting for bbc local stations, and she still looks as great as ever. …others i really miss beverley webb , bob friend , scott chisholm and chris manns missus the irish girl ! Excellent nomination. Loved everything he’s done – Sky News, five news and Talk Radio. He was of course one of the first participants in what seems like quite a long line (well 4) of ‘slap/punchgate’ incidents.
I have to disaggree with the idea that Becky Anderson from CNN Business Internation should present on Sky News. She is one of the most irritating presenters I have the misfortune of watching, her and ridiculous colleage of hers’ Todd what’s his face.
I agree that Simon McCoy and Natasha Kaplinsky should return. I would also like to see Kate Garraway return and Moira Stuart jump ship from the BBC.
I think it’s a shame Bob Friend retired, he was classic. Stephanie Callister, yeah I remeber her, she can come back.
Hi guys HBox I see you would like Moira Stewart at Sky. All I say to that is: [B]Please No!) Moira Stewart was the reason I stopped watching BBC News and she’s also the reason why Sky News is my main News source coz of her upper class accent it made me want to throw a brick at the TV. You’ll probably mention Alan King and Michelle Clifford and if you did, I’d refer you to my introduction posting where I said, if I had the choice those two,(along with Tim Abrahams), would be given free transfers to the BBC. if you mention Jenny Percival to me, I would point out that Jenny Percival is a babe. So, if Moira Stewart came to SKY I’d have to find another newe source.
I disagree about your the Moira comments, but then that’s your oppinion. I have no particular affinity for Allan King, I don’t dislike him though, he is very professional, but I just don’t warm to him.
Leave Moria alone. She doesn’t have an upper-class accent. She just speaks with a rather traditional, clipped pronunciation, which would probably not suit the easygoing popular style of Sky. I find her the most credible and authoritive person on BBC Breakfast. She reminds me of the days when Breakfast News ruled! and mushy celebrity sofa chat was only for Gmtv.
