i really did like littlejohn on 4 an hour at 6 every week day
it was at the time of the cantona incident
he had the odd boring show where he had 2 cover womens and social issues
but on the whole it was a real good show 4 the boys
i might even go kick a few palace fans
if ever he gets his old job back
and i’m a palace supporter lol

I think that the ‘personality’ led shows will be scrutinised the most. Ultimately they will be judged on the people fronting them, but one slot has a lot of scope; World News Tonight.

If James Rubin is half as good as his missus Christiane Armanpour (CNN) then he will have a long career with SKY.

Yeah, it is expected that the personality lead programmes will be scrutinised more than the general news. World News Tonight, I have to say, intrigues me the most. But as long as the rest are have a new, fresh and inciteful way of delivering the news, without trying to simplify it too much, then I will be happy.

I’m sure during all these specialist programmes, they will still have headlines, bearing in mind that most of the programmes will still be covering the days main news anyway I’m sure. But it is not long to wait.

Not necessarily; Sky News Today might continue, being pushed back one hour so it will be in the new 9am-12pm slot presented by Martin Stanford, Anna Botting and Anna Jones.

Do we know if the Kay Burley, Jeremy Thompson and Julie Etchingham shows are going to have their own programme names and different titles/branding a la Fox News “Fox Report”, “Big Story”, or are they just going to be “Sky News” (presume that JT’s might stay as “Live at Five”?).

I hope they do keep the Sky News Today format – between 9am-12pm.

I hope they try something different, the current format is stale, in my opinion.

I don’t know, this hasn’t been confirmed yet what they will call them. Though I expect we’ll know on the 20th when they release promos and stuff.

I don’t know, she only ever occasional beforehand, and perhaps was only covering whilst the other presenters rehearsed. She may well go back to ‘now and again’ presenting slots. Just my guess, may be completely wrong.

I would say that this means a standby presenter – as in when the normal presenters are off sick, holiday etc.

My guess is that Paula is not a main presenter at the moment.

Thank you DIRKYT. I’m sorry. Paula is a good presenter.
Why there’s no profile of Paula in this site ??????

Yeah, hi, as Dirkyt said it just means an occasional presenter, not a regular one.

I am not that keen on World News Tonight folks…perhaps it’ll grow on me, but I am not too keen on James Rubin presenting this. Why can they not get Jeremy or Tim Marshall presenting this. He looks very uneasy and his American perspective holds no relevance for a UK channel. He must take a stand point from a British point of view. His style would suit FOX or CNN though.

I feel that I am being bitchy here – I am sure he is a great bloke – I just don’t buy his style with SKY News.
