Tony Blair announces his time table for his departure today.
The media are covering this in full.
BBC News: Huw Edwards in Westminster. Jon Sopel and James Landale in Trimdon.
ITV News: A News Special started at 11:40am presented by Alastair Stewart. James Mates in Trimdon. Daisy McAndrew in Downing Street. Libby Wiener in Westminster. No sign of Tom Bradby yet.
Sky News: Kay Burley and Glen O’Glaza in Trimdon. Julie Etchingham in Westminster. Adam Boulton and Niall Paterson.
Adam Boulton said, he’d love to be in Trimdon with Tony Blair but couldn’t due to broadcasting rules. Does anyone know what he’s talking about?
Watching Sky, as usual, but they do seem to be overdoing the coverage, yes breaking news but surely the "achievements" could wait until he actually goes.
Did not hear Adams comment – strange.
Why did ITN bother, if they want to be a News Source they should have kept their News channel.
Good bloody riddance. There are more important things happening in the world, the news channels need to get over it.
I guess people will remember Tony Blair because of his stand with the Iraq situation. Critics as well as fans will have mixed emotions about the end of his term.
