I would have to say it’s a tie between Chris Lowe and Jeremy Paxman. They both joined the BBC in 1972.Who do you guys think is the longest surving News Presenter?
Most people like Allan King and the experienced older readers have quite possibly lasted from the 70’s such as presenting in their local area, for example BBC Wales Today etc. But, 1972, thats a hell of a long time.
Peter Sissons joined ITN in 64, was reporting by 67. I dare say he still probably isn’t the longest serving.
