Anna Ford

Anna Ford retired in April 2006 after 30 years at the BBC.

Anna’s BBC career started with Man Alive. From there, she presented Tomorrow’s World from 1977 and worked on Network between 1986 and 1988. Anna joined the BBC Six O’clock News team in 1989 and co-presented the bulletin most evenings each week for ten years before moving to the BBC’s lunchtime bulletin, the One O’clock News.

Anna’s television career began in 1974 when she worked on the newsdesk for Granada TV. She then joined ITN and worked on TV-AM in 1981. She has also done freelance work for Channel 4, Thames TV, Central TV and Granada.

Anna Ford was born in Tewkesbury in 1943 and before she joined the BBC, she was the staff tutor in Social Studies at the Open University in Northern Ireland.
