Danny Crates

Danny Crates covered the 2012 Paralympic games for Channel 4 television.

One of GB’s most successful Paralympic athletes, Danny was a gold medallist in the T46 class at the 2004 Paralympics over 800m and was GB’s flag bearer in Beijing in 2008, when he was unable to defend his title due to injury.

He won bronze over 400m at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 before switching to the 800m. It proved a smart move as he went on to become a World Cup winner, European champion and world record holder.

Since retiring he has launched a successful career in broadcasting, presenting for Channel 4 at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships in Christchurch, NZ and the BT Paralympic World Cup, as well as motivational speaking.
