Sky News will air a hour-long programme this week looking at the the shocking truth behind the plastics recycling system in the UK.

Correspondent Nick Martin follows the rubbish chain to countries as far away as Poland, Hong Kong and Thailand.

He finds plastics from UK households shipped abroad to be recycled – but now destined for landfill.

The documentary includes an interview with Michael Gove, and uncovers briefing notes on the flaws of the recycling system which were never made public.

The programme is available now on Sky On Demand and will be shown on Sky News for the first time on Friday 26 January at 9.00pm.
