New Midlands Bureau

Sky News has opened its new Midlands bureau, located at the University of Birmingham. The new bureau replaces the broadcaster’s existing base in the Midlands and provides a permanent broadcast link to the Sky News Centre in London.

David Crabtree has been named as the bureau chief, with correspondents Ross Appleyard and Di Harper also based there.

Crabtree said: “Being located at an institution with an international reputation for groundbreaking research and expertise is going to be a great advantage. We are all looking forward to being here and the University has made us very welcome.”
