Ofcom to investigate Ian King’s f-word incident on Sky News

Ofcom, the television watchdog, is to investigate Ian King’s f-word incident on Sky News.

The incident took place on the 30th July episode of ‘Ian King Live’ when King accidental swore during a live interview with economist Michelle Meyer about interest rates in the USA.

After introducing his guest, King asked her a question about the “tepid” growth rate in the second quarter. Before she had a chance to answer, King, who is off-camera, suddenly shouts “fuck”.

He apologised before asking his second question to Meyer, and later issued an apology on Twitter, saying: “Many apologies to anyone who was offended by my Kenneth Tynan moment earlier this evening. Sorry.”

“Ofcom is investigating this programme, which included the most offensive language before the watershed,” said a spokesman for the media regulator.
