The BBC will broadcast England’s World Cup 2018 Group G clash against Panama at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in Russia this afternoon.

Gareth Southgate’s men come into this fixture following a last-gasp 2-1 win over Tunisia on Monday, with captain Harry Kane proving to be his country’s hero with both goals.

Tournament debutants Panama did well to hold Belgium in the first half of their opener, but Roberto Martinez’s side proved too strong in the second half and eventually ran out 3-0 victors.

England will be looking to make it out of the group stages of the World Cup for the first time since 2010 after their poor performance at the tournament four years ago.

The Three Lions drew one and lost two fixtures in 2014, failing to win a game in a group that also featured Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Recently announced captain Harry Kane will lead his side out in his first-ever World Cup and will be expected to provide the goals that England have desperately needed in the group stages in the past, with the Three Lions only scoring 11 goals in 12 group matches since the turn of the century.

They’ll be facing opponents who are playing in their first-ever World Cup, with Panama progressing after finishing third in the CONCACAF qualifying group.

They finished above the likes of the USA and Trinidad & Tobago, with the President of Panama declaring a national holiday after they made it through to the finals.

Gary Lineker will be live on BBC One and BBC One HD with live streaming via the BBC iPlayer from 12.10pm, where he’ll be joined in the studio by Alan Shearer, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand.

Match commentary comes from Guy Mowbray and Danny Murphy.
