Euro 2016, Day 3 – Poland v Northern Ireland – Live TV Coverage on BBC, ITV

A further three games will take place in the 2016 UEFA European Championships today as the competition continues with day 3.

ITV will broadcast the opening game of the day, while the BBC airs the other two, including Poland v Northern Ireland.

But the day’s coverage starts at 1pm on ITV with Turkey v Croatia.

Mark Pougatch presents coverage of the opening fixture in Group D, which takes place at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Mark will be joined in the studio by Glenn Hoddle, Slaven Bilic and Emmanuel Petit, while commentary comes from Sam Matterface and Andy Townsend.

Kick-off 2.00pm.

The BBC’s build-up to the Poland v Northern Ireland showdown starts at 4.15pm on BBC One, where Gary Lineker presents coverage of the opening match in Group C, as the teams face each other at the Stade de Nice.

This will be the first-ever European Championships match for Northern Ireland, and their first appearance at a major tournament since the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, and is certain to create a high amount of interest back home.

They begin their campaign against a nation whom they have a favourable record, having won four of the nine previous meetings between the two, with Poland having won three times and the other two ending in draws.

The Poles are themselves appearing at just a third European Championships, and only qualified as co-hosts alongside Ukraine four years ago, and they are yet to progress beyond the group stage in either of their two previous attempts.

The most recent encounter between these countries took place in 2009, when a World Cup qualifier ended in a 1-1 in Chorzow, which followed a 3-2 victory for the Northern Irish in Belfast.

Gary will be joined in the studio by Rio Ferdinand and Neil Lennon. Match commentary comes from Guy Mowbray and Gerry Armstrong.

Kick-off 5.00pm.

Then coverage switches (7.35pm) to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, where Germany take on the Ukraine. Gary will be joined in the company of Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer, while Jonathan Pearce and Danny Murphy provide match commentary.

Kick-off 8.00pm.
