The draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers take place this afternoon in St Petersburg, Russia, where the home nations England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales discover their group opponents.
The ceremony will be held at the historic Konstantin Palace, a bastion of Russia’s rich cultural tradition.
From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, a total of 208 nations have signed up to participate in the campaign. Russia qualify automatically as hosts and will therefore not be involved in the Preliminary Draw. For the first time in the history of the World Cup, all national teams have registered for the preliminary competition.
Besides Asia, which will have already had a pre-preliminary draw, all other five Confederations will be drawn in St Petersburg.

Pot one: Germany, Belgium, Holland, Romania, England, Wales, Portugal, Spain, Croatia.
Pot two: Italy, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Iceland, Denmark, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Pot three: Poland, Ukraine, Scotland, Hungary, Sweden, Albania,Northern Ireland, Serbia, Greece.
Pot four: Turkey, Slovenia, Israel, Republic of Ireland, Norway, Bulgaria, Faroe Islands, Montenegro, Estonia.
Pot five: Cyprus, Latvia, Armenia, Finland, Belarus, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Moldova.
Pot six: Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Georgia, Malta, San Marino, Andorra.
The draw will be shown live on Sky Sports News HQ from 4pm and via the BBC Red Button.
