Peter Lane

Peter Lane joined Five News as North Of England Correspondent in early 2005.

Peter joined from the BBC where he was Midlands Correspondent, reporting on the One, Six and Ten O’clock News bulletins.

During his time with the BBC he covered the Soham murder investigation and the return to the UK of the “Tipton Three”, who’d been held at Guantanamo Bay.

Peter Lane started working in television in 1994 as a runner with ITN and was a producer on the original launch team of 5 News in 1997.

He became the Five News North of England Correspondent in 1998 and went on to be voted RTS Young Journalist of the Year. Peter left Five News in 2002 before rejoining.
