Philippa Thomas is BBC News 24’s Special Correspondent.

She has held this role since 2001 and has presented special programmes for BBC News 24 and BBC World on the September 11 attacks, war in Afghanistan, and the French presidential elections.

Philippa also regularly presents on both BBC News 24 and BBC World. Before joining BBC News 24, Philippa reported from Washington DC for news outlets on television, radio and online, and was a specialist reporter for BBC ONE’s One and Six O’Clock News.

Born on 22 November 1965, Philippa grew up in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
