Sarah grew up in Gillingham, Kent and graduated from London University in 1993 with a degree in English.
Before joining the Sky News Weather Team, Sarah worked for Marks and Spencer PLC. There she was part of the Food Development Team and used to spend much of her time sampling delicious recipes!
And it was while she was at M&S that he cut her teeth as a presenter, co-hosting a Healthy Eating Roadshow with Diet and Fitness expert, Rosemary Conley, which toured Britain and reaching thousands of slimmers.
After 5 years with M&S, Sarah gave up food tasting and took up weather, going on to complete a Met Office course in Broadcast Meteorology.
Even though she no longer works in the food industry, Sarah lists the enjoyment of food and wine as her number one pastime. She loves to cook and eat out, and is an avid reader of food writing. Recently she achieved a longstanding ambition to appear on the BBC’s Ready Steady Cook with Ainsley Harriot, racing against time with top chef, James Martin.
Sarah also loves a challenge, and this summer she learnt to scuba dive and is a newly qualified Open Water Diver. She’s not normally a sporty person, and is more of an “indoor girl”, but is still quite handy with a paintbrush and rather good at DIY!
