Tottenham look to respond after defeat in their Group B UEFA Champions League opener as they host Barcelona at Wembley this evening.

While Spurs conceded two late goals to go down 2-1 at Inter Milan on matchday one, Barcelona eased past PSV Eindhoven 4-0 – Lionel Messi scoring his record eighth hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League.

The sides’ only previous contests came in the 1981/82 European Cup Winners’ Cup semi-finals. After a 1-1 first-leg draw at White Hart Lane, Allan Simonsen’s 46th-minute goal at the Camp Nou proved enough for Barcelona to go through to the final, where they beat Standard Liege 2-1.

Tonight’s match will be shown live on BT Sport 2 with live streaming on BTSport.com and via the BT Sport app.
