Channel 4, Sky Sports F1 confirm coverage for 2018 Formula One season

Channel 4 and Sky Sports today confirmed their line-up for Formula One 2018.

Sky Sports will broadcast the opening race from Melbourne, Australia, exclusively live on March 25th.

Sky is the only place to see every practice session, qualifying session and race live, with 11 exclusive race weekends, as the broadcaster builds towards becoming the exclusive home of F1 in 2019.

Channel 4 will air ten Grands Prix including Monaco, Great Britain and the season finale in Abu Dhabi on November 25th.

Steve Jones will once again front Channel 4’s Formula One coverage with expert analysis provided by 13-time Grands Prix winner David Coulthard who will be joined by special guests throughout the season such as Mark Webber, winner of nine Grands Prix and Scottish racing driver, former Williams F1 test driver Susie Wolf and former racing driver and team boss Eddie Jordan.

“We’re set for another compelling, action packed season and viewers can follow the whole story on C4, All4 and @C4F1,” said Stephen Lyle, Channel 4 Head of F1.

“Once again the most iconic races are available Live and free to air as well as the season finale, with all fans hoping this one goes right to the wire.”

Sky Sports’ in-depth coverage will include analysis from a world-class line-up, headlined by Martin Brundle and former world champion Damon Hill, alongside Johnny Herbert, Paul di Resta and Anthony Davidson.

Scott Young, Head of Formula 1 at Sky Sports, said: “There is huge anticipation this year; can Hamilton create even more history, how will Ferrari and Red Bull close the gap, where will the young drivers emerge in the reckoning?

“Each season we look to find new ways to improve the coverage and entertain our viewers and this year will be no different.”
