Age: 23
Skating with: Brianne Delcourt

Number of times fell over on first day: A few times. I now find I fall over trying to do the lifts.
Number of bruises so far: A few bumps and bruises. Early on, I fell over and cracked my hip bone into the ice.
Most embarrassing fear/dread for first live show: Something going wrong or my costume splitting open
Dream celebrity skating partner: Tony Discipline who plays my brother, Tyler Moon, in EastEnders. We could do Blade Runners together, which would be fun.

Former EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas has declared he is ready to do battle with the Dancing on Ice judges if they start criticising him unnecessarily. The hunky 23-year-old, who left the BBC One soap as Anthony Moon over the summer, promises he will answer back if he finds himself at the receiving end of their harsh critiques.

“I won’t take any nonsense from anyone,” insists the actor. “I will answer back. I am not afraid to voice my opinion. I am prepared for the highs and lows of taking part in the competition and the thing with the judges is that you can work really hard and then they kill you for it. I am working so hard and I just want to try my best. I really am loving doing Dancing on Ice.”

One of the main reasons why Matt jumped at the chance to take part in the competition was that he would be able to learn a new skill and show the public a different side to him.

“People still shout my character’s name from EastEnders,” says Matt. “It will be nice to be known as Matt rather than as Anthony. It will be nice for people to know who I am. It’s really great to learn a new skill, dance and have fun. It’s really hard work but the more work you put in, the more benefit you get from it. You have to learn how to focus your body, the actions and how to pick your partner up and throw her around.”
