A third series of Channel 4’s critically-acclaimed comedy ‘Friday Night Dinner’ has been commissioned.
Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal will return as the Goodman Family, with Mark Heap once again arriving unannounced as Jim.
In the new series, Adam gains a new female admirer – an 11-year old girl, Jonny gets the world’s worst tattoo, Dad gives the boys a graphic lecture on sex education, Mum practices being a counsellor on her horrified family, Grandma goes back out with the terrifying Mr Morris, Jim accidentally swallows his dog’s sleeping pills, and… there’s a wedding.
The show’s writer and producer, Robert Popper said: “I’m so excited to be making a new series of Friday Night Dinner with such a fantastic cast once again. I really could not be happier. Well I could, if say, I’d taught crows how to speak and they, in turn, taught me how to fly.”
Friday Night Dinner won Best Situation Comedy at the 2012 Rose D’Or Festival and was nominated at Best Situation Comedy and Best Female Performance in a Comedy for Tamsin Greig at the 2012 BAFTA TV Awards.
The six part series will shoot in North London over the Summer and be broadcast on Channel 4 in 2014.
