Comedian Sarah Millican has landed her own series on BBC Two.

The 6 part, 30-minute series will be a mixture of Sarah’s unique and brilliant stand-up with some special guests along the way.

Sarah said: “I am thrilled to be making a series for BBC Two, so thrilled that I do little claps every time I think about it.”

The series, filmed in front of a studio audience at MediaCityUK in Salford, will be a co-production between Sarah’s production company and a first for the Scottish arm of So Television.

Alan Tyler, BBC Executive Editor for Entertainment Commissioning, said: “Sarah Millican and So Television feels like a bit of a dream team. Sarah is one of the UK’s funniest comedians and we are delighted to bring her first TV series to audiences on BBC Two. She is a truly unique combination of wit, warmth and killer punch lines. Sarah is in great hands with So Television who are one the foremost entertainment producers in the UK. This is a great first commission for their new Scottish arm.”

Since winning the if.comedy award for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Sarah has been a panellist on several high-profile shows including: Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, Would I Lie To You? and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, as well as Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

Sarah hosts her own radio series Sarah Millican’s Support Group on BBC Radio 4 and is also a regular co-host on BBC Radio 5 Live satirical news show 7 Day Sunday.
