The first Grand Tour of the cycling season gets underway this Friday as the 101st Giro d’Italia takes place from 4th May – 27th May 2018.

The 3.562,9km distance will be a true battle of survival as the men go through the 21 stage in this UCI World Tour event.

For the first time in its 101-year history the race will start in Jerusalem with an individual time trial and spend a further two days in Israel, before touching down on Italian ground in Catania taking on the undulating hills of Sicily, southern Italy.

The main pre-race favourites are Chris Froome (Team Sky), defending champion Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb) and Fabio Aru (UAE Team Emirates). Dumoulin is the first Dutch male winner of the Giro.

All 21 stages of the event will be shown exclusively live on Eurosport and the Eurosport player with nightly free-to-air highlights on Quest from 7pm.

Jonathan Edwards will front the coverage on Eurosport and Quest.

The player is priced at £6.99 for a monthly pass or an annual pass for £29.99 per year. Both packages come with a 7-day free trial.
