From now until polling day all we will hear about on TV is Party press conferences, questions like:-

Is Tony Blair a liar, can you trust him? did he ever work in MI6?
Should Mr nice guy Gordan Brown become leader of the Labour Party?
Does Michael Howard care about immigrants?
Can anyone in the Tory party calculate?
Is Charles Kennedy really in touch with anyone?

Who cares about all that rubbish. I don’t care who is the leader, whether they are a man or a women, what colour they are, how old they are, what colour shirts they wear.

If they are searching for a good sound bite that touches the only industrious people left in this country then it is this….
What I want to know is how I’m getting value for money for all the tax I am paying and whether I will get it back in return?

THERE IS NO ONE PARTY WHICH I CAN VOTE FOR IN THE GENERAL ELECTION THAT MATCHES MY CRITERIA. ALSO IT SEEMS THE TV/MEDIA ARE MISSING THIS POINT TOO. INSTEAD THEY SEEM MORE INTERESTED IN PROVIDING THEIR OWN OPINIONS AND MORE INTENT TO FOLLOW POLITICIANS IN HELICOPTERS TRAVELLING AROUND THE COUNTRY AS THEY ATTEMPT TO DEMONSTRATE SO CALLED ‘CANVESSING’. DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN WATCHING ALL THAT NONSENSE EVERYNIGHT. SOME OF US ARE MUCH MORE CINICAL, THEY ARE SICK OF WATCHING ALL THESE PARTIES DO ENDLESS PRESS CALLS, PRETENDING TO ENGAGE WITH THE ELECTORATE WHEN REALLY ITS JUST A MEDIA SHOW.

Every week people go shopping, they have choice of shops, they can buy something, they can return it if it does not work or even a refund. However, with tax everyone pays enormous amounts of money,….and it just disappears, no one is accountable for it and we have no choice on how it is we spent.

Because I have worked very hard throughout my life I am now a 40% tax payer. However I live in a society full of hulligans with no respect for one another and a society that is more interested in political correctness than law and order. I have to pay private health care to get 1st class health and have to pay large amounts of money into a private pension to ensure I get can benefit later in life.

So exactly where is all my tax going? The answer is I am paying for all the lazy people in this country and I don’t mean foreign people living hear. Many of these poeple are more hard working than the English Nationals born here.

I am paying Council Tax of over a ?1000, it has doubled in the past 5 years. When I read the literature that came with this year’s bill I found that all my money is going on financing schools, supporting Housing Benefit schemes and Town Planning. To my surprise emergency services, waste disposal, street lighting and even the Police were only a small proportion of the total bill. This does’nt stop there the council have now implemented parking meters everywhere and speed cameras appear every week to gain extra revenue from those who have the money.

As you can probably gather I do not have any children. I had an education paid for by the government which I am grateful for. However now I am in the position of paying to provide other peoples children with an education but many of them are growing up to become a nuisance to society more intent on terrorising other people than helping the community or respecting their elders.

I don’t know how I will vote at this Election, I may not even vote at all. This was the main problem at the last Election. The problem is no one has any faith in politics. I suppose I look like a Conservative but this party is full of people I have no time for,….Oliver Letwin, the guy that looks like spock, they are all typical cases in question. The guys with the experience have all since gone Heseltine, Kenneth Clarke & co.

The only person I have any time for on Question Time these days other than David Dimbleby is Chris Patten when he is a guest. I know he would not necessarily answer my questions on tax but he would have made a very good PM. He always comes across as intelligent, clear, experienced, compassionate and trustworthy (generally a good all round egg) but I guess that is why he is no longer a politician. He wears good coloured shirts too.

    Regards

    Karl Daniells

Why do people in this country still think we are a great nation in the world today? Thats for another day!
