Former Ten News presenter Greg Pearce will begin presenting for a revamped National Nine News Perth this evening. He will replace former co-anchor Sonia Vinci, who is moving to a new locally-produced edition of A Current Affair.

Pearce re-joins the station, whose news bulletin is outrated significantly by rival Seven News, after positions in Sydney and more recently ABC Local Radio in Bunbury.

Director of News, Adrian Beattie, said he was pleased to have Pearce join the news team.

“His warmth and experience will bring even more authority to an already impressive news program – and being able to use Sonia Vinci to present our local A Current Affair means that Nine’s news hour in Perth has one of the strongest team of presenters in the country.”

The station has also anounced a new weekend presenting lineup, featuring Matt Tinney and Sharlyn Sarac. From tonight, STW will replay the evening’s bulletin at midnight, in place of parts of The Mint.,21598,23072004-5012990,00.html
