BBC Press Release+–>( BBC Press Release)
In Election Night (Thursday 4 May BBC ONE and News 24, 11.30pm?6.00am) David Dimbleby leads the BBC team reporting live as the results come in with instant reaction from the winners and losers.

Emily Maitlis reports from the biggest battleground of the night – in London – and there will be a complete picture of the story across the country at 12.15am and 1.30am.

Jeremy Vine makes his debut as the master of virtual reality graphics – pulling together what is happening and what it means for the country as a whole.

The BBC’s Political Editor Nick Robinson will be on hand to tell us what the politicians are saying and planning behind the scenes.

There will be 24 outside broadcast facilities on the night, featuring 120 cameras across the country.

The 12 regional political editors will anchor coverage at key counts for Election Night on BBC ONE, and the 6.30 pm regional news programmes will provide extensive coverage on 4 May.

The regional teams are also working closely with BBC News 24 and will present reports on key issues including: Health in the West Midlands where 2,700 NHS job losses have been announced; the BNP vote in the North West, Leeds & the West Midlands; the effects of manufacturing job losses in the East Midlands and the ‘Green’ effect in Tunbridge and Plymouth.

News 24’s Chris Eakin has taken to the road on his motorbike to profile Manchester and Winchester in advance of the polling.

Adam Boulton will present Vote 2006 from 10:30pm tonight for Sky News, and from what i can see, ITV News are not covering the event…

They have a specialised graphics service: ticker showing share of seats, sidebar with results and vidiprinter with the latest declarations. Good coverage so far, interesting they don’t seem to be using the newswall for Martin’s graphics, he is doing it in front of the desk, Sky Report style, still looks good though, he is gesticulating wildly at a graphic of the London Eye as I type.

I just noticed James Mates presenting the news at 10:30pm from Downing Street. Anything special on the Evening News?

George Alagiah was on College Green for the Six.
