Sky News has announced the appointment of a Viewers’ Editor to reflect viewers’ comments and opinions sent to Sky News through emails and texts.

Former political correspondent Paul Bromley takes up the new on-air role and will give a human face to viewers’ contributions.

Paul?s brief will include collating and sorting all viewer correspondence, acting like a newspaper?s letters page editor; identifying potential interviewees, including webcam contributors; developing news angles; and deciding which contributions to broadcast. Paul will appear on Sky News to reflect the range of viewers? opinions on important running stories. He will also write a weekly article for the Sky News website (sky.com/news) to highlight viewers’ sentiments.
