A couple of months ago I first came across something called the CNN Effect, where CNN had such a large effect on the day-to-day running of the US, that it had changed the whole country. Does anybody else think that sky news has had a similar effect, although not as great?

you’ll have to expand on what the ‘effect’ is exactly.

in any case, Sky has already lost any influence it had seeing as it is well behind in the ratings and will soon be in the wilderness once it comes off Freeview.

Yeah, if there is any ‘effect’ to be measured, I’m sure News24 has more then Sky. I don’t think Sky is anywhere near as influential in Britain as CNN has been in the states, and never will be.
