What About Myanmar (aka Burma) And Somalia?

    In all the wall to wall South Asian Tsunami coverage; there has been no mention of the death toll in Myanmar. It is the grey bit not highlighted in any of the displays of regional maps and found between Thailand, Bangladesh and India

    It is a politically isolated country because of a reprehensible regime; however the suffering of its people should not be ignored because of the represion of it’s government and nor should the thousands of homeless victims be excluded from receiving aid.

    Somalia has been abandoned too despite over 100 reported killed.

    I’ve seen Somalia mentioned lots of times. I don’t think they’re going unnoticed. 120 killed isn’t going to require the same effort of rebuilding that the other countries do.

    And I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Burma is the only place we haven’t heard from. The “government” doesn’t want you to know about anything that goes on there!
