Chris Hollins joins BBC Breakfast

The BBC today announced the appointment of sports presenter Chris Hollins as the main sports presenter on BBC Breakfast.

Hollins, who will leave his current role as a sports presenter on BBC News 24, takes over from Rob Bonnet. Bonnet will however, continue to present sports bulletins on BBC World and at weekends on BBC One as well as his sports interview programme Extra Time, which is shown on BBC News 24 and BBC World. Rob is leaving the programme after 10 years.

Hollins, who is 34, will take over the role later this month. During his six years at the BBC he has become a regular sports presenter on BBC News 24 and has also presented and reported for Grandstand and Football Focus.
