Al-Jazeera International has signed up Sky News presenter David Foster.

Foster will join the team of the new English-language version of the Arab satellite news channel, which launches early next year.

AJI is understood to be trying to sign a number of big-name presenters to host segments on the channel.

Foster, who has been a journalist for 33 years, has worked for Sky News since 1997 as a news presenter and business news correspondent.

“David has a passion for news and for this channel’s mission to deliver the facts without a domestic agenda,” said Nigel Parsons, the managing director of al-Jazeera International.

I agree. A real pity but if he brings his talents to Al-Jazeera that will give me another reason to keep watching.

This is a great signing for them.

Former SKY man David Foster and Granada reporter So Rahman have also put pen to paper.

    Hello, good morning, Allahu akbar.

Reckon the old lad lad has now lost his one remaining marble…

Perhaps he’ll be fronting Muslim version of TWTWTW?

    Cheers
