I assume that Jimmy Hill will be returning to our breakfast tables in a week or two. Am I the only one who thinks he might be a little out of touch?

I fear we’re going to get nine more months (maybe more with the World Cup!) of

“I used to be a Manager”

“I used to be a chairman”

“England need an old fashioned number 9”

Sometimes the other journos look embarrassed at the things he says and they even appear to ignore him.

Bring back the old “Hold the Back Page” I say!!

You are not alone in that view.

IMO, he should have put out to grass 20+ years ago…..

Perhaps the first of the very average players to make a later financial killing from the game – and offering very little in return.

Due to TV expansion, many such low quality pundits have emerged in recent years.

All were better players than Hill [who wasn’t?], but share his inabilty to communicate.

Such candidates would be Barnes, Nevin, McAllister, Wright, Schmicel et al

    Cheers
