Why on earth do Sky Sports persist with the moronic Phil Thompson as an (alleged) ‘expert’ summariser on “live” matches?

Additionally, he is invariabily allocated the Liverpool fixture thus giving him ample opportunity to demonstrate – within his usual gibberish – that objectivity is not his forte

    Cheers

He gets the Liverpool games, yes. Frank McClintock gets the Arsenal games too. Tommo, has more honours than any other English player. Sorry that’s wrong, it’s Phil Neal. A bit of respect please. For speaking fluent b******t, Ally McCoist is in a league of his own. I’d say Alex Fergusson, for his consistent lying, deceit, his intimidation of officials, of which he is very successful. Except for Mike Riley, who doesn’t need leaning on. But i wont, out of respect.

Why the attack on Fergie? Because such a no brain, disrespectful opinion has to come from a Man U fan.

i’ve had the honour of meeting thommo (that’s debateable) and yes phil neal’s won more honours than him but he was a great player in his day. as for an analyser, his animated celebrations in istanbul were great but unfortunately not impressive enough for the studio

And last evening he even had the gall to query the limited amount of time added on by the Euro tie referee!…from the master of time wasting tactics.

IMO, should have hung up his mouth immediately following the Euro Cup final success…..since when he has become a disgrace to the game.

Wonder if the Man Utd board will have the balls to get rid of him?

Rather as Cloughie did, he has been around too long to retain credibility.

Ironic that the 4 major biography subjects of Michael Crick (Ferguson, Archer, Scargill and Heseltine) all share(d) the same ability to overstay their welcome.

I dont know you know Rob! It pains me to say it, but Fergie is still one of the best managers in the world. If not all time. Who could possibly replace him?
