Anti-abortion campaigners have condemned new guidelines which allow doctors to help girls under 16 to have an abortion without involving parents.

They argue the Department of Health guidance on contraception and abortion ignores the parent’s right to know what is best for their child.

But supporters say the advice will help to protect girls, reduce teen pregnancy and tackle the spread of infections.

My sister fell pregnant at the age of 15 and kept the baby. My mum looked after the child while my sister finished school.

When my sister left school she moved into her own home. She is now 20 years old and has a 5 year old son. She is very happy with life at the moment.

My sister told my mum from day one and got all the support she needed, I think every child should tell there parents if they are pregnant.

It will be worth-it in the long run..
