Sky News have announced that senior reporter Dominic Waghorn has been appointed Asia Correspondent, Beijing.

Dominic replaces Richard Bestic, who was recently named as Sky News? Asia Correspondent, Delhi. Richard had been Sky News? Asia Correspondent for five years before launching the channel?s new bureau in India. The creation of the India bureau gives Sky News two bases from which to cover Asia.

Dominic said: ?This has got to be the most exciting patch in the business today, given China?s extraordinary transformation and the vast diversity of stories across Asia. It?s an awesome opportunity.?

Dominic will be based in Beijing from March 2004.
