We are fast approching a new year, which brings new opportunities.............what would improve Sky News in 2005?

Is there anything Sky News could do to improve?

Total Studio Refit?

New Presenters?

Overhall of Logo?

Any ideas? Post them below!!!!!!!

Thanks for reminding me - I hate the run up to Xmas

I think the current Sky News format etc. is very attractive - they have made mistakes with that in the past.

They are supposed to be getting a new studio sometime in 2005, which is rumoured to be double-decked. Cue literally broken news as presenters tumble down staircases?

I'd guess that with the new studio will come a complete refresh of the channel.

I feel that is a recipe for disaster, live news and staircases!!!!!

Who will be the first one to go flying down the stairs? Maybe Emma Crosby, bless her!

Sky News is getting a brand spanking new news studio and building as well as revised evening schedule. Knowing Sky News' usual trend, I would imagine that they will have new idents/logos and graphics.

As for presenters, doubt they'll dump any, but they might bring in new ones, if they do revise their evening schedule.

It has been a while since Sky News has had a major overhaul (excluding the minor studio refresh earlier this year). Their usual trend was every couple of years or so; 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001...So I think another one is overdue in my opinion.

I hope they do not repeat "Year in Review" over and over again this time.

Well there are 2 things that spring to mind.

BRING BACK SIMON McCOY AND NATASHA KAPLINSKY

AND

When there's a breaking news story would the presenters please stop the

"it's far too early to speculate".. then spend the next half hour doing just that!

Apart from that i'm quite happy with their broadcasting.

I don't think they'll change their logo this time round - the Sky brand has just had a refresh (Sky One and the main Sky logo) and the current sky news logo still fits in.

It's very distinctive as it is too.

I have to agree with the Year in Review thing, it is repeated far too often.

I quite like the current Sky News logo, and agree that is easily recognisable. But there is always room for improvement. I'm sure there is a new logo just waiting to be created.

I'm looking forward to Sky news next year. Its a bit exciting, a new look in a new studio and the arrival of Five News in their new studio too.

The prospect of a multi level 'stage' including perhaps a lift or spiral staircase is intriguing, it could bring a new slant to the term ' Breaking News ' ; Stunt man lessons for the entire news team may be necessary.

As well I,d like to see some interchange between the Five news team and Sky and have presenters guesting on each.
