Ken Livingstone has reportedly opened a book of condolence in London. It's only a small gesture of solidarity, but does anyone know if there is some way (presumably electronic) that people living abroad could "sign" the book ? Many of us do not live near British Embassies or Consulates.

A house in Leeds is currently surrounded by armed police. A press conference is set to take place in London and West Yorkshire later today. Sky's Shirley Lewis is making her way to the scene.

Edit: About 500 people have been evacuated from their homes and businesses in Leeds.

At 11.51am they showed a man being carrid out of an ambulance. He was blackened with soot and had no shirt on. He was youngish and in good shape. He was dead. The paramedics were pounding his chest attempting to ressusitate him. his ribs were obviously broken. His head bobbed violently with each thrust.

I complained to the BBC. His family were probably unaware of his condition at that time. It was an invasion of privacy. It was sick and tasteless. Obscene.

I was more disturbed by the fact that it was a pre editied report. Therefore a decision had been made to show it.

I have since had a response from the BBC who have said it was shown once by accident (if I knew how to attach an e mail I would). Unfortunately I don't know whether to believe this as I have spoken to someone who says their child saw it on an early evening report.
