Hello everyone

Just watched a Bryan Swanson report on Sky Sports News .... was good but - is it just me or is his speaking style very off-putting?

Surely he doesn't talk like that normally? It sounds strange ... almost fake?

Does anyone know if any of these reporters get voice training before doing work for Sky?

He was like that when he was on Tyne-Tees about two or three years ago before he moved to Sky. Me and my mates sue to take the P out 'that bloke on the news' because he looked and soundd so daft....and then he ended up being on Sky!

Hello

He sounds a lot better than during their World Cup coverage. Toned things down by the sounds of it and I think a lot more natural.

If you think he's bad what about the other scottish blokes on sky? Criiiig Slatttttttttttttter and Fras-ah-er Rober-ahrt-sooooooooooooon.???

Yes he does sound better - maybe he's been reading this messageboard ??!!!

You're right too about some of the others - so many of the voices just sound so 'put on' .... I don't know if these people really speak like that, but e.g. the bloke who does the cricket sometimes Jeremy Langdon (I think is his name) sounds really strange and offputting. Why can't they just talk like they talk, if you know what I mean?

as before, I just think this sort of thing is a shame because otherwise the Sky Sports News reports are usually pretty good quality.
