Day 4 of World Cup 2018 concludes with the Group E encounter between Brazil and Switzerland.
The match, which takes place at the the Rostov Arena in Russia, will be broadcast live on ITV.
While the South Americans’ fourth-place finish at the last World Cup would be deemed a success for most nations, it was seen as a disappointment for Brazil, given they were an expectant host nation and they crumbled alarmingly.
They were thrashed 7-1 by eventual champions Germany in the semi-finals, and to add insult to injury, lost 3-0 to the Netherlands in the third-place play-off.
However, hopes will be high for redemption this time around, as they topped what is traditionally a highly competitive CONMEBOL qualifying section with ease, finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Uruguay.
The Swiss could perhaps consider themselves unfortunate to finish second behind European champions Portugal in their group after winning nine and losing one of their 10 fixtures.
Despite their impressive group performances, they were made to work hard in their play-off tie against Northern Ireland, progressing 1-0 on aggregate courtesy of Ricardo Rodriguez’s controversial penalty in the first leg in Belfast, but they will nevertheless expect to provide their opponents with an early test of their credentials.
