Morocco v Iran – World Cup 2018 – Live TV Coverage on ITV

ITV will broadcast the World Cup 2018 Group B contest between Morocco and Iran this afternoon.

The match takes place at Saint Petersburg Stadium, where the teams play their first match of the tournament.

Both of these nations will be appearing at the World Cup for a fifth time in their history, but while Iran were present in Brazil four years ago, Morocco last participated at a tournament 20 years ago, at France 98.

In order to qualify for Russia, they first had to overcome Equatorial Guinea in a two-legged play-off, before then going on to compete in the four-team group stage alongside Ivory Coast, Gabon and Mali, which they eventually won without losing a match.

For Iran, they had to come through two group stages in the Asian region, and played a total of 18 games in order to become one of four automatic qualifiers.

Both of these nations will be keen to get off to a good start and boost their chances of progressing to the knockout stage with a victory tonight, having also been drawn alongside Portugal and Spain.

Mark Pougatch will be live on ITV and ITV HD from 3.30pm, where he’ll be joined in the studio by Slaven Bilic, Ryan Giggs and Eniola Aluko.

Match commentary comes from Sam Matterface and Iain Dowie.

Kick-off 4.00pm (UK time)

The match will also be shown on the ITV Hub, while highlights will be shown on BBC One from 12.05am (Sat morning).
