50 States: 50 Voices • U.S. Election Special on Sky News

Sky News US Election Coverage

Sky News will broadcast an U.S. Election 2012 special programme this evening entitled ’50 States: 50 Voices’

The half-hour programme, presented by Martin Stanford, is a project based on films made by the people who really count at election time – the voters.

The contributors, one from each U.S. state, shed some light on the issues that will determine who wins their state.

The show will incorporate a Google + Hangout hosted by Adam Boulton taking place at the same time online and via Sky News for iPad, making Sky News the first UK broadcaster to use the platform live on air.

Seven contributors will attend the online video chat with Boulton to debate the hot button issues across the U.S.

They are Jonathan Green, Jill Davis, Fred Glick, Kirk Mayes, Katie Paine and Saul Kaplan.

Sky’s Alan Strange, who developed the concept, said 50 States: 50 Voices draws on important expertise – voters who are well aware of the issues in their states.

“It was a very ambitious plan to get a video from each state, and the results are brilliant,” he said.
