Former news correspondent Paul Harrison has announced he is leaving Sky News.
“After 22 extraordinary years working on and off-screen at Sky News on some of the biggest stories of our lifetime, I am pleased to have been appointed to a senior communications role at Huawei Technologies UK/Europe which I take up later this summer,” said Paul.
“I’ll miss the hugely talented and truly lovely people who make Sky News the force it is today. I am equally excited about joining a company at the centre of the global news agenda at such pivotal time for 5G and AI.”
Paul joined Sky in 1997 as a newsdesk assistant, working then on the newsdesk and planning before working in the field as a producer, Europe news editor (Brussels based), North of England Correspondent, News Correspondent (general), Business Correspondent and as Royal Correspondent.
Since 2014, Paul as worked as a senior news editor based in Osterley, and for the past 15 months in Westminster.
Many congratulations, Paul.
I dearly hope at the final meeting with the boss you dusted off the line 'Its my way or the Huawei'.

Congrats Paul. That’s a great move. Please can you make your first task a simple one: how the feck does one pronounce #Huawei ? Wah-wey? Hoowah-aye?
