Thanksgiving Service & Royal Procession on the Mall live on BBC, ITV and Sky News

The final day of the Diamond Jubilee weekend will take place today with the Service of Thanksgiving and the Royal Procession on the Mall.

The BBC, ITV and Sky News will have live coverage throughout the day.

The day starts with a National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, attended by The Queen and members of the Royal Family.

Following a reception at Mansion House and a Diamond Jubilee lunch in the Palace of Westminster, the route from there to Buckingham Palace will be lined by thousands of well-wishers as The Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family travel in a formal carriage procession. The King’s Troop RHA pays tribute with a 60 gun salute from Horse Guards Parade.

The Royal Family will appear on the balcony to watch the RAF fly past and a Feu de Joie – a cascade of rifle fire by The Queen’s Guard.

BBC – 9:15am – 1pm, 1:30pm – 3:45pm

Huw Edwards will host the BBC’s coverage with commentary at St Paul’s provided by James Naughtie.

Sophie Raworth will be reporting from St Paul’s; Fiona Bruce will be at the Palace of Westminster; and Chris Hollins and Sonali Shah will be in The Mall.

Fearne Cotton and Jake Humphrey will be taking a lighter look at the events of the day; and Clare Balding will be at the Knightsbridge Barracks meeting new trainees of the Household Cavalry who have been learning to ride in time for this historical day.

ITV – 6am – 4pm

ITV News at Ten’s Julie Etchingham and ITV’s Phillip Schofield will reunite, following the Royal Wedding programme last year, to host ITV’s coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee procession.

The coverage begins at 6am with Daybreak, followed by ITV1’s main programme at 08:30am, and continuing right through to 4pm that afternoon.

Alastair Stewart, Mary Nightingale, Mark Austin, Nina Hossain and Natasha Kaplinsky will be based at key procession points on the way from Buckingham Palace, along The Mall to the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s.

James Mates will lead the ceremonial commentary of events – just as he did for the Royal Wedding last year.

Sky News – 6am – 7pm

The presenting trio of Eamonn Holmes, Sarah Hewson and Charlotte Hawkins will guide viewer through the day’s events from the Palace, with a perfect view of the royal family balcony appearance and flypast.

Kay Burley will be at St. Paul’s Cathedral for the Service of Thanksgiving, and Gillian Joseph, Adam Boulton and Dermot Murnaghan will be covering the carriage procession through the streets of London from various London landmarks.
